Healthy Habits

Talk to others experiencing the same thing

It’s important to find someone you can talk to who can relate to what you’re going though during this time. Online or in person support groups are a wonderful resource.

Treat Yourself

Don’t go crazy, but give yourself a small treat to help get you through the tough times. It can be as simple as doing an activity you enjoy or going to dinner with a friend. Don’t feel bad about taking care of yourself.

Block your ex

Nothing good will come of you continuing to check up on your ex on social media. This will most likely only lead to hurt feelings and/or increased jealousy. For your own peace of mind, just hit that “block” button.

Keep a journal

Whether it’s daily, weekly, or whenever you feel like writing. Being able to look back on how far you’ve come will be a huge asset in the future.

Prepare in advance

It’s probably not something you’d think about right away, but preparing what you’ll say when friends ask “what’s going on with you and your ex…” will come in very handy. No one likes to be blindsided, especially with sensitive questions. So thinking about what you’ll say ahead of time is definitely a good idea.
